Dear Sisters,

           Some of you know me, I am Darla Fent, a founding member of River City Auxiliary #12 Omaha, Nebraska/Council Bluffs, Iowa.  I have been the secretary-treasurer for the15 years that we have been an auxiliary.

            Larry and I have been married for 41 years.  We have 3 wonderful children Keri, Heather and Chad and 4 exceptional grandchildren.  Larry retired after working for UPRR for 31 years.  During that time I was a stay at home mom which is one of the best jobs you can have.  Currently I am a permanent part-time employee at the College Store/Bookstore at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

            I am very involved with my church.  I am a member of the Administrative Board at Broadway United Methodist.  I've been on the board of United  Methodist Women for 14 years and their president the last 7 years. I've co-chaired our Annual Bazaar and Harvest Dinner for 12 years, these are our main means of raising money for the many mission projects that we fund.

           It is because of Mary Anna Mullins wonderful example as a past National Chaplain and with her encouragement that I felt it was the right time for me to run for this position. I am very honored to a have been chosen as your National Chaplain and I believe that my strong faith and belief that God is with us always gives me the foundation to fulfill my duties with dignity and honor.
