Legislative Alert - September 28, 2007 - Railroad Insurance Eligibility Audit
Dear All:
The BLET put out
this newsflash about the insurance eligibility audit that is currently being
conducted. If you are part of this audit, you should have received notice
from your insurance carrier (which differs in various parts of the country).
Please do your best to comply in returning the requested
information. If you have problems, there is a toll free number on the
letter.
Diane Shifflett,
our Virginia State Legislative Representative, obtained information regarding
Aetna requirements. She was advised that if you don't have copies of
birth certificates for your children, you can submit your tax return which
lists your dependents and their identifying information. If you need
additional help, Diane obtained the number for the Customer Service
Representatives for Aetna and United Healthcare. Anyone who needs
those numbers can contact either Diane diane.shifflett@gmail.com or
me. If you need an extension beyond the 60 days, you should contact
the appropriate insurance carrier to obtain that extension.
Be sure to get that
information in or get an extension so as not to lose coverage. If a loss
occurs, it will be reinstated once the necessary documentation is received and
nothing will be considered pre-existing if a lapse occurs.

eligibility audit in accordance with BLET Insurance Plan documents.
