National 1st Vice President / National Outreach Coordinator
My husband William started with Union Pacific railroad in March of 2004. He immediately became active in the union, both locally and in the General Committee. He was a vice local chairman at first, then went on to serve as local chairman of Division 362 here in La Grande, Oregon. In June of 2016, he became 1st Vice General Chairman for the Union Pacific Western Region General Committee of Adjustments.
During his time as a union officer, we attended the International Western Conventions each year, and during these trips I got to know the officers and members of the Auxiliary and joined as a member-at-large. In October 2016, I was appointed to the position of Alternate National Treasurer of the BLET Auxiliary to fill a vacancy left as a result of a resignation.
During my years as a railroad spouse, I was a stay-at-home mom and am now a stay-at-home grandma. Our son and daughter are both grown and out of the house with wonderful spouses of their own. The oldest has given us two grandkids that I take care of when he and his wife are at work. It is a blessing to be able to watch the grandchildren grow up and to be able to help the kids out in this way.
My family is everything to me and I love how the women of the Auxiliary treat each other like family. I look forward to working with these ladies and learning more about how I can help with the Auxiliary.
